Dr. Jean Miller
Presentation Skills Coach
Dr. Jean Miller has been a member of the full-time faculty in the Communication Program at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. since 1998. Her teaching specialties include public speaking, leadership, intercultural communication, and rhetorical theory and criticism. Since 1993, Jean has been proprietor of the Capital Speakers Class, a private public speaking course for women. She also serves as coach and consultant to the Capital Speakers Club of Washington, D.C., Inc., a non-profit women’s organization of six hundred members founded in 1951.
Jean has 25 years of experience in providing consulting services and workshop presentations to many organizations, including: the Overseas Private Investment Corporation; The Advisory Board Company; Geriatric Rehabilitation Education and Training Institute; National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges; National Presbyterian Church; INOVA Health System; and Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. She especially enjoys working with young professionals and women leaders who are striving to apply their skills in new contexts.
Presentation Skills Coach
Lisa Richard has been a trainer and coach for 25 years, helping people hone their communication skills to enhance their effectiveness and professionalism in the workplace. She specializes in presentation and briefing skills, writing and grammar, interpersonal communication, pronunciation and articulation, accent modification, and English as a second language.
Lisa, who holds a master’s degree in teaching, is adept at assessing the unique needs of each client, whether in government, law, business, or the non-profit sector. She adapts materials and instruction to meet the needs of each individual or group. By engaging participants with a dynamic approach to the learning process, Lisa equips speakers to implement in the workplace the concepts they learn in training.
Executive Assistant and Client Care Specialist
Lindsay Gomez holds a degree in marketing from DePaul University and spent much of her career in the office products industry developing consumer products. It’s here that she also developed a keen sense for customer service and honed her one-on-one skills by working with co-workers, customers and outside vendors. It was the desire to help people on a more personal level that led her from the corporate world to her work with small businesses.
